Next door to The Waterloo Park Hotel project, within the same block at the heart of downtown Austin, The Waterloo Park Mixed Use Project is currently planned to include:
I. a 36-story residential apartment and condo tower with over 420,000 square feet of living space;
II. a 15-story 170,000 square foot office tower; and
III. a 22,000 square foot programed elevated plaza between the two buildings, optimized to both contribute to and enjoy the 12th Street Capital View Corridor.
The site is expected to complement and benefit from the multiple sources of demand that immediately surround it. It fronts the soon to be completed Waterloo Park and Moody Amphitheater, the 14-acre Central Health Tract and the Capitol Innovation District. The redevelopment of Waterloo Park has been a significant strategic initiative of the City of Austin and Waterloo Greenway. Upon its completion later this year, it will be an iconic central urban park, which will be a draw for all residents of and visitors to Austin, not just its surrounding neighbors
Just to the north of the site along Waterloo Park, the Innovation District is seeing its first project in the construction of the 17-story UT Systems building. This is the first of many projects planned for the innovation district over the next decade.
